Holding back the years…

So yesterday was my birthday.
I turned 59. One year away from 60 and six years away from the official retirement age in the United States.
I asked my wife if she ever thought about getting to this age when she was young. As the optimistic person she is, she replied: “This one and older, much much older… Like 109!”.
There was no real celebration. Family and friends, all reached out to give me their best wishes. We bought some Thai takeout and went to bed early.
Perhaps, I am showing my age.
The day before we went out for pizza. At the pizzeria, they had this hallway with tons of pictures of veterans. Kind of like an “in Memorium”. I thought it was appropriate for this occasion. 😃
