Vacations start for us in a couple of weeks.

I can’t wait. I have not had a proper vacation in probably two and a half years. Mostly because of the current situation that all of us found ourselves in, but also because of the moves.

Moving to a new home is tiring. I am not so sure I have it me anymore.

My wife loves moving. For me, it’s a constant reminder of the incredible amount of crap we accumulate in our lives. Mostly unnecessary…

We have been in this new home since November, that’s seven months. We still have stuff on the storage unit that we rented 12 months ago!

My wife is a semi-hoarder. She is one of those people that assign sentimental value to a lock of hair and has to preserve it.

As I have become more and more stoic, I have begun to let go of sentimental values, The only things that I treasure are my memories. As is the only thing that is inherently mine. Is the only thing that is going with me when I am gone. The rest stays, so why assign any value at all?

Did I mention that I am really looking forward to our vacation?

I will take lots of pictures, both with my camera as well as my mind…
