Latin Escape Bar & Restaurant

Yesterday we wanted to go out for dinner as it was only my wife and me at home.

We decided to go to a place called: La Fonda Colombiana. It turned out that it was closed so I decided to look for alternatives.

That’s when I found Latin Escape Bar & Restaurant (map) at 501 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477.

The place is hidden away in the corner of a small plaza not even three minutes from my home.

At first it look a little inconspicuous as there didn’t seem to be anybody there. When we went in, we found the place was packed with people playing pool, as they have a pool hall, a dance area, a bar and restaurant.

The restaurant area was mostly empty (to be expected for a Tuesday for this type of restaurant) and we sat down right next to the bar.

The staff was very attentive and courteous and after looking at the menu, we realized it was sort of a Latin Fusion restaurant; with food from Central, South America and the Caribbean.

We ordered the “Bandeja Paisa”, a delicious combination of Chicharron, Rice, Beans, Flank Steak and a couple of Fried Eggs on top, Very satisfying. My wife ordered the “Bolon de Platano”, a sort of Plantain meatball normally filled with carnitas and cheese, but my wife opted to only have the carnitas. 😃

Washed everything down with a nice boozy drink consisting of Tequila, Blue Curacao and Pineapple juice.

The place is essentially a nightclub with a very nice Latin Fusion restaurant. I will imagine that on the weekends, it gets really busy.

Not too pricy (between $20-$30 pp) for dinner and drinks, depending on the choices.
